Our SUP Charity Event „Stand Up for Ubomi“ Was a Fantastic Community Experience. Tide, weather, material, mood: everything was just right when 56 people took up their paddles on September 14, 2019, to set off from Neuharlingersiel to Wangerooge.
A Meaningful Word and an Exclamation Mark behind Ubom.i For more than two years now, we have been in the Townships of Cape Town with our project – and one Xhosa word has meanwhile become part of the everyday language of all of us: “gorgo”.
„For the First Time in My Life…“ - This was also the motto of our trip to Signal Hill and the beach of Camps Bay a few weeks ago.
Every Sunday our Ubomi leaders meet at Khosi and Thomas place in Khayelitsha. Over a cup of tea, Ubomi topics and personal concerns are discussed and we also chat about all kinds of things.

Molo, ungani? – Hello, how are you? – are the Xhosa words we learned first and use very often here. All our neighbours - and there are many! – are very nice and curious about the "Umlungus", the white people in the Township.
